13 Phone Sales Tips to Land the Meeting
Be sure to register for my free training on, "7 Keys to Closing More Sales in A Down Market" https://www.marcwayshak.com/lab-web-training-novid/ Phone Sales Tips to Land the Meeting #1: Warm up your calls. If you’re one of the countless salespeople out there struggling to generate leads with cold calls, I have great news for you: We live in an unprecedented age when it comes to the number of tools available to make your calls warm. So, it’s time to stop making cold calls altogether. Tip #2: Personalize every call. Take the time to personalize every call as much as you can—without going too over the top. Your efforts will pay off in better engagement with your prospects and increased likelihood that they’ll want to have a real conversation with you. Tip #3: Drop the sales voice. Dropping the sales voice is one of the quickest, easiest phone sales tips you can apply to your strategy today. Record yourself on your next sales call, listen to it, and start making the necessary changes to your tone. Tip #4: Have your script. Every good salesperson should have a script when they're making a prospecting call—period. You must have a script. At the absolute minimum, you need a basic call structure to follow. But ideally, you should have a full script for exactly what to say, and when. Tip #5: Know your contingencies. Come up with a list of contingencies for common pushback and objections you hear on your prospecting calls. This is one of the most helpful, useful phone sales tips you can easily incorporate into your selling process. Tip #6: Expect resistance. Sometimes prospects are really easy-going and friendly when you get them on the phone, but most of the time they're going to resist in some way, because you're getting them to do something they don't necessarily want to do. They have other things they’d much rather do than talk to a salesperson. So, if you simply expect that resistance, you're going to be much more effective in your prospecting calls. Tip #7: Bring some value. Focus on bringing some value to your prospects at the beginning of your calls. Show them some insight. Prove that you know what the heck you’re talking about. Give them some ideas or statistics about what’s currently going on in their industry. Tell them what their competitors are doing right now, or what challenges they’re facing. Tip #8: Have a kickass CTA. A kickass CTA is a kickass call to action. You want to have a call to action that’s way more compelling than the typical “let’s schedule a meeting” or something like that. Come up with something that actually has some real value to the prospect. Tip #9: Make a recommendation. Assuming you’ve had a successful call and it’s getting toward the end of the conversation when you’re going to try to schedule a next step, it’s important for you to come across as a true expert. Put your consultant hat on and make a recommendation. Tip #10: Get the calendar invite. After you’ve made the recommendation for a next step and the prospect has agreed, it’s time to make sure you schedule that next step before getting off the phone. This is one of the most crucial phone sales tips I’m sharing in this article. Do this every single time. Tip #11: Be very assertive. In most types of selling, being too assertive can be problematic. But when it comes to prospecting calls, you actually need to be more assertive than usual. Tip #12: You are a peer. This is a critical mindset that every top-performing salesperson has to have to succeed in phone sales. You are a peer to your prospect. You are not a doormat, you are not someone who is below your prospects, but rather you are at their same level, looking eye-to-eye with them. Don't put your prospects up on a pedestal like they're some amazing, magnificent, special human beings. They are your peers, so talk to them like you know them. Tip #13: SW3N. This is the last phone sales tip I’m going to share with you, and it's so important. SW3N stands for Some Will, Some Won't, So What? Next.

11 Sales Training Basics Beginners MUST Master
I'm going to share 11 sales training basics beginners must master. Be sure to download Marc's incredible e-book on "25 Tips to Crush Your Sales Goal!" Just go here to get the e-book instantly: http://www.marcwayshak.com/opt1/ 11 Sales Training Basics Beginners Must Master Number 1: what you've been told before is wrong. I promise you that this is the case. Whatever someone has told you in the past about what you should be doing in sales is probably wrong. Number 2: be the complete opposite of what you think a salesperson is. What makes a capable salesperson is someone who can read people who can follow a process who can engage people in a conversation using a systematic approach. Number 3: talk is cheap. Most salespeople think that having The Gift of Gab is the best thing that we can all have when it comes to selling but the reality is is that your prospects don't want to hear you talk. Number 4: have a system as a relatively newer salesperson. One of the best things that you can do is have a real selling system to follow if you're making it up as you go you are shooting yourself in the foot follow a systematic approach to selling whether it's my Approach or someone else's approach. I don't care but what I care. You have a system. Number 5: do your homework. Show your prospects through personalization that you understand who they are that you've done your research. Now, this doesn't mean that before you make every phone. You need to do 25 minutes of research, of course not at our company. We have a team of people who do our research for us. Number 6: ask questions. Now, of course, not all questions are created equal. So it doesn't mean ask any questions but within a systematic approach you need to be asking questions, and you need to be engaging your prospects getting them doing the talking if. Number 7: don't be afraid to lose sales. I find that so many salespeople are terrified with the idea of losing a sale and you know what? It happens. It's not the end of the world and quite frankly living in fear of losing a sale is going to make you so much weaker. Number 8: don't be a servant. Some so many salespeople feel like they need to put prospects up on a pedestal what they're doing is not putting the prospect on the pedestal, but they're getting down, and they're bowing down like you would expect the servant in a movie. Number 9: stop persuading your prospects. Prospects do not need to be persuaded to do business with you. What they need is a professional salesperson who will determine whether there's a. Your prospects either need or do not need what you have. Number 10: always be learning. Learning is a lifelong journey if you stop learning you're in trouble. And with sales so much is changing that the second we stop learning. We just immediately get ourselves into trouble at our company. We're always reading new books new strategies implementing new courses new ideas always be learning new ideas, especially if you're relatively new in sales. Number 11: never get comfortable. Ever the second you get comfortable with where you are is when you get into trouble, I see this in the life cycle of salespeople all the time.
