How do I register as a tutor?

Upon registration, am I considered an employee of MyLearningFriend.com?
- No. MyLearningFriend.com provides only tuition matching services for tutors. Tutors are solely responsible to pay for all taxes on income earned, and handle all other responsibilities related to tutoring.
- However, as a tutor using our services, you will receive perks from us such as the "Teach More, Earn More" privilege, only available exclusively at MyLearningFriend.com.
- Tutors are also free to consult the MyLearningFriend.com Team for tutoring advice.
Why do I need to have my e-mail address verified?
- We need to assure that certain communications from MyLearningFriend.com, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the MyLearningFriend.com Newsletter will be able to reach a valid and existent user and designation.
- If you did not receive your verification mail, please check your bulk mail (junk mail) folder as the mail could have been automatically filtered. You may also login to your account with your username and password and request for the mail to be resent to your e-mail address.
What is the purpose of the Questionnaire during my tutor registration?
- The short questionnaire is to allow you to strengthen your tutor portfolio. Please be noted that the questionnaire can be made available to parents upon specific request to assist them in deciding on a more suitable tutor for the job.
- Therefore, we would advise you to take the questionnaire seriously and answer responsibly because tutors who have completed our questionnaire allows us the opportunity to understand you better, which in turn will increase your chances of getting positive feedbacks should our opinions be sought by the parents.
REGARDING PAYMENT
Do I need to pay for registration?
- Registration is free. There is no need for any kind of payment until you accept our tuition offer.
Do I need to pay MyLearningFriend.com once I have accepted the tuition offer?
- Yes. We only charge a one-time payment of 50% of your first 4 weeks of tuition fees as referral fees.
E.g. if your 4-week tuition fees is RM300, the fee you need to pay us would be RM150.
- There will not be anymore charges after that pertaining to the tuition job concerned UNLESS you have decided to terminate your services with the parents concerned prematurely, before completing 4 weeks of lessons or that you have a misconduct complaint lodged against you by the parents. Please refer to our Tutor Terms & Conditions for more details.
- However, if you continue to accept more students from us, you get to earn even more! This is the "Teach More, Earn More" privilege you get only at MyLearningFriend.com.

How do I make the payment for referral fees?
- We will deduct the referral fees from the first payment we have received from the parents.
How do I receive my tuition payment?
- For the first 4 weeks, the parents will pay directly to us. You will receive payment from us for your tuition lessons after class has started for 2 weeks. The next round of payment will be made directly to you from the parents, on a 4-week cycle.
ABOUT TUITION OFFERS
How will I receive my first tuition offer?
- Once registered, your profile will be available as searchable material to all parents. You may receive job requests from parents, requesting you to make applications for the tuition job they have to offer. Likewise, you will also be able to search for available jobs and make your own requests accordingly. Parents who are interested in having you as their tutor will establish contact with you.
- To inform you of a specific tuition job offer, our Education Consultants may call you personally to discuss the matter or you will receive emails from our Customer Support notifying you of job offers.
- Once an offer has been confirmed, we will call you to brief on the tuition job and you will also receive an official email notification regarding the job. You may also be requested to attend a brief meeting session with the parents concerned before the commencement of your first lesson.
What are Job Alerts?
- To assist you in looking for tuition jobs, we will be sending you job alerts that match or closely match your tuition preferences from time-to-time to your email. Please check your account and emails frequently for updates. If you have not been receiving any job alerts from us, please check your bulk mail (junk mail) folder as the alerts could have been automatically filtered. Otherwise, you may contact us.
When will I receive my first tuition offer?
- We cannot determine exactly when you will receive your first offer or how frequently you will be offered tutoring jobs. Tutors who are more experienced and are able to teach subjects that are higher in demand in major towns stand a better chance at receiving their first offers.
Can I change my mind after accepting the offer?
- Once you have been offered tutoring jobs, you can choose to accept the offer, negotiate the offer with the parents or decline it.
- However, once you have chosen to accept the offer, we will immediately send a confirmation notice to the parents.
- If you change your mind after the notice has been sent, you will be fined for your lack of credibility and you agree to pay MyLearningFriend.com a sum amounting to 50% of your full 4-weeks’ payment for damages caused to our reputation. Your account will also be terminated with immediate effect.
What if I still do not receive any offer for a long time?
- We suggest that you should update your profile frequently and get more professional self-enhancement qualifications to upgrade yourself.
